OUR VALUES: THE STANDARD
The Standard is our core set of values at Generations Church. It sets the attitude and actions for how we get things done. If the vision is the compass, The Standard is the map that gives us direction.
1. We Are United Under One Vision. Generations is built on the vision God has given our Pastor. We will defend our unity and that vision.
2. We Will Win The Lost at all Costs. We have a God-given mission to reach this city. No amount of money, resources or effort is significant in our attempts to reach those in need of Jesus. Therefore, we unapologetically set goals and measure progress through all available means.
3. We Love People When They Least Expect It and/or Least Deserve It. We will love, forgive, show mercy and accept all people, because every person is invaluable and irreplaceable.
4. We Lead The Way in Generosity. Our staff, leaders and church will go above and beyond to give to the work of God in our city.
5. We Will Invest Our Best in The Next Generation. They are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today. We will equip, train and commission the next generation.
6. We Are Known For What We Are For. We will speak hope and life over our people. We will lift up Jesus rather than using our platform to condemn or advance personal agenda.
7. We Act in Faith Because Playing It Safe is Risky. We will keep dreaming and doing. We will take giant steps of faith and watch God do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
8. We Value Diversity. We embrace a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-generational church that reflects the heart of God.
9. We Are Contributors Not Consumers. We will volunteer our talents, passion, time and energy to accomplish the mission of our church.
10. We Understand The Most Important Message Deserves The Most Excellent Presentation. High quality production and professionalism is a priority. We will exhaust all creativity and innovation in our efforts to tell the timeless story of the gospel.
11. We Refuse to Live Life Alone. We are a church of smaller groups of people and we live life in community with those who are following Jesus.
12. We Will Be Faithful With The Small Things. We are responsible for what God has entrusted to us, knowing that He will give us more. We will not take this for granted.

Membership
At Generations Church we recognize the need for a formal membership. We ask you to commit to membership for four reasons:
1. A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the church. “...Christ loved the church, and he gave his life for it.” Ephesians 5:25 (GN)
2. A Cultural Reason: It is an antidote to our society. We live in an age where very few want to be committed to anything: a job, a marriage, our country. This attitude has even produced a generation of “church shoppers and hoppers.” Membership swims against the current of America’s “consumer religion.” It is an unselfish decision. Commitment always builds character.
3. A Practical Reason: It defines who can be counted on. Every team must have a roster. Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army has an enlistment. Even our country takes a census and requires voter registration. Membership identifies our family.
4. A Personal Reason: It produces spiritual growth. The New Testament places a major emphasis on the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to any specific church family.
